

Alfred F. Peters, Jr. "Al" or "Pete", 85, passed away March 26th, 2014 in Austin, Texas at Seton Hospital NW.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Angela Moncus Peters and Alfred F. Peters, Sr. and brother, Edwin G. Peters.
Al will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Betty J. Peters, children David W. Peters and Nancy C. Crowley and husband , John Crowley , grandchildren Rachel E. Crowley and John B. Crowley. His brothers, Charles K. Peters and wife Marilyn, Paul Peters and wife Deborah, Arthur G. Peters and wife Ute, nieces and nephews numerous cousins, great- nieces and great-nephews. He will also be missed by treasured friends.
Al was born April 1, 1928. He grew up in San Antonio and graduated from George W. Brackenridge in 1945. He was awarded the Eagle Scout Award in 1941. He received his BS from Southwest Texas State College in 1949 and his MS in 1953from Texas A&I.
His career in education started in Freer ISD 1951-53, Kerrville ISD 1953-64, Hill Junior College 1964-65 and concluded with the Texas Education Agency.
We are forever thankful for all those, who saved his life in 1986 when he was diagnosed with a cerebral aneurysm and more recently, the decline of his health.
Visitation is scheduled for 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, the 31st of March at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10:00am on April 1st, 2014 at Weed-Corley-Fish North Lamar. Private burial will follow in Lytle, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 901 Trinity Street Austin, Texas 78701.
