Farris Evans passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2005. She was born on April 27, 1914 in Valley Mills, Texas and grew up in the Texas panhandle. In 1934, she graduated with honors from West Texas State College in Canyon. Farris married Ted Evans in 1937 in Amarillo. They moved to Austin in 1950, and joined Tarrytown United Methodist Church where Farris was an active member for 55 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Ted. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Joe and Diane Evans of Mason and Bill and Karen Evans of Lubbock; grandchildren Tracy Duchouquette, Katie Evans, Judy Hawkins, Jeff Gray, Mary Beth Becker, Kathy Vern, Susie Thompson, and Joe Ted Evans, as well as 14 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29 at Tarrytown United Methodist Church with Dr. Jim Mayfield officiating. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff members at Westminster for taking good care of Granny over the past nine years.
