She was born in Austin on February 8, 1924 to the late Timoteo Torres, Sr. and Maria Pequeno. She married the late Porfirio (Pete) Sosa on November 19, 1964.
It was Angelina's destiny to not have children of her own, but as the years unfolded it became crystal clear that God had bigger plans for her. Angelina was a true mother to numerous foster children, friends in need, and 3 generations of nieces and nephews. She opened her home and her heart to anyone who needed a place to stay and served us all with loving arms. We are all blessed to have her in our lives and we love her very much.
Angelina is survived by 4 sisters; Alice Torres, Beatrice Diaz, Josie Garcia (Moe) and Rebecca Mendoza (Alvino). She is also survived by 2 brothers; Tim Torres Jr. (Josie) and Fred Torres (Gloria). She was preceded in death by sister, Esther Acosta and brothers, Joe Torres, Jesse Torres, George Torres and Arturo Torres.
The family is very grateful for the loving care Angelina received from the staff at Odyssey Hospice, especially Jessica (RN), Veronica (Aide), and Francis (Social Worker). May God give you the strength to continue to care for the very sick and the most vulnerable. Also, we thank her caretaker, Josefina, who gave love and comfort to Angelina in these last couple of months. My aunt would say many times 'ella me trata como familia'. Que Dios te bendiga, Josefina.
A funeral mass will be held at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest, Austin, TX, 78704, on Friday, December 13 at 10AM. Victor Sosa, Jr, Anthony Sosa, Michael Diaz, Karl Diaz, Jimmy Joe Estrada, and Albert Sais will carry our dear Angelina to her final resting place at Assumption Cemetery.
Illness has a way of distinguishing the things that matter. Although I am filled with sadness, I am eternally grateful for all you taught me about life these past 4 months. It was a privilege and honor to serve you, this time. Te quiero para siempre, mi tia linda.
