Angeline Cook Harrison (Ann) received the Crown of Life August 8, 2024. She was born October 31, 1929 to Oradell & Heliat Wilke in Pflugerville, Texas. Angeline grew up working on the farm with her parents, which instilled great character & discipline in her at a young age.
Upon her graduation from Bartlett High School she set her gaze on her future; left the country life and moved to the big city of Austin. She rented a room @ the YWCA and secured a job at Scarbrough’s on Congress Ave.
Angeline met the love of her life, Ralph Cook, shortly after and together had two daughters; Carol and Sue.
Angeline approached the hardships in her life with great courage and strength becoming an early widow at the age of 53 and again @ 64 following the loss of her second husband, Roy Harrison. She loved to dance and her & Roy shared two joyful years on the dance floor.
Angeline celebrated a triumphant victory over Multiple Myeloma in 1995 standing on the promise “With long I will satisfy you and show you my salvation”. Ps 91
She retired from DPS after 18 years of service in 1992. Through her retirement yrs she remained very active by joining Curves and exercising three times a week until Covid restricted her at the age of 90 years young. Her goal was always the next accomplished T-shirt reward.
Angeline was very active in Lay Ministry by serving @ Faith Lutheran Church as Leader of “Happy Tuesday” for the seniors. She had a heart for people and visited the sick in the hospitals & ministered to those confined to their homes by serving them communion.
Angeline set a wonderful example for her daughters and all who knew her by serving & caring for others.
Rooted in her faith, we find great peace knowing she was embraced by Jesus, greeted by our father, Ralph & her parents whom she missed greatly; grandson Derek Romine & granddaughter Alison Roney. She loved her grandchildren, uniquely, and she made each of them feel as if they were her favorite.
Her daughters Carol Sommers & Sue Romine, SIL, Ronnie Sommers,❤️son, Larry Cook; grandson; James Sommers, wife Tracy, and grandson Dillon Romine remain to honor her legacy by loving and living outside of themselves, in caring for those God has placed in their lives.
Angeline never knew a stranger - she embraced many in her life. We are forever grateful for those special ones who became family; Linda Wilson, you held a set apart, special place in “Grams” heart.
Special thanks to her wonderful neighbors & friends who were her “ever present help in times of trouble”. We are so grateful for you!
Expressions of deep gratitude for the excellent care provided by the Aspen Hospice Team; and the loving, caring staff @ Wells Point Lodge. Thank you for making a difficult journey feel like home.
Rest in heaven now mom and enjoy all He has prepared for you…. Especially your beautiful rose garden. We’ll see you soon, for all eternity.
