Ann Kavanaugh Felder

ANN KAVANAUGH FELDER January 26, 1929 ~ January 14, 2007 Ann Felder of Austin quietly passed away in her sleep on January 14, 2007 to spend eternity at the side of her beloved Lord. Ann was born January 26, 1929 in Shreveport, Louisiana as the only child of Marge & Fred Kavanaugh. She graduated from Lamar High School in Houston and attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville where she met and married Jack Felder. Ann and Jack raised their five children in Huntsville and operated Felder’s clothing store on the downtown square for 25+ years. Over the past 15 years Ann lived in Houston, Dallas and Austin to be near her children and grandchildren. Ann attended the Oak Hill United Methodist Church in Austin and First United Methodist Church in Huntsville. While in Austin, Ann was a part of the Quester’s Antiquing Group and served as a docent at both the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and Bob Bullock Texas History Museum. She was known for her fabulous cooking and loved to entertain her family and many friends. Ann is survived by her children Shelley and Mark Beto, Stacey and Mike Ussery and Jetta Felder all of Austin and Thad and Connie Felder of Waxahachie. She was also very proud of her nine grandchildren, Jackson Felder, Kelley Felder, Katherine Beto, Tim Beto, Alex Ussery, Ben Ussery, Cal Ussery, Zach Felder and Courtney Felder. Ann was pre-deceased by her husband Jack Felder and one son, Dan Felder. Ann never met a stranger and leaves behind a host of other great friends and relatives. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Austin. A final memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Huntsville at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18 with the Reverend Bruce Hay officiating.
