Ardell Elwood Capehart Jr. passed away peacefully the morning of December 15, 2019 surrounded by his wife and kids in Austin, TX. He was born February 1, 1952 here in Austin, TX to Ardell and Lucette Capehart Sr. He grew up with his brother Charles and his two sisters Arlette and Lorette.
He met the love of his life Yvonne Miles when he was 12 years old, growing up just three houses down from each other. They dated through high school marrying on June 7, 1973, just seven days after Yvonne graduated. They were together every day for 55 years and married for 46 of those. They have two children and two grandchildren. Known as Papa to the grandchildren, he cherished them with all his heart.
Growing up in a carpenter household, he himself continued in the field officially starting when he was 17 years old. He truly enjoyed working with his hands and continued in the carpenter field most all his life. His hobbies included scuba diving and cabinetry, and his biggest hobby was racing pigeons, something he started as a teenager. He loved Texas, the Longhorns and watching football on the weekends. He loved his family, his friends, life and Joe Cool!
Ardell is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers in France. He is survived by his wife Yvonne (Miles) Capehart of Spicewood, TX; daughter Amelia L. Rogers and husband Harold of Spicewood, TX; son Wesley M. Capehart of Leander, TX; siblings Charles R. Capehart and wife Karen of Georgetown, TX, Arlette Capehart of Pflugerville, TX, Lorette Capehart of Pflugerville, TX, Frank Rodriguez and wife in California, Mary-Lyne Rodriguez in California, Liliane Marie Rose Lafon of France; and two grandchildren Tobias Rogers and Reilly Rogers.
