

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Aubrey Lee Moore, passed away peacefully into Heaven on November 4, 2016, in Austin. Aubrey was born on February 9, 1933 in Satin, Texas to Albert Lee and Ella Mae Moore.
Aubrey was predeceased by his parents, his first wife of 40 years, Ann L Moore, five brothers, L. D. Moore and wife Esther Moore, Willis Moore and wife Verna Moore, Elbie Moore, Melton Moore, and Jackie Moore. Aubrey is survived by his wife, Joan, his daughter, Trisha Moore, son Gayland Moore and wife Karen, step-daughter Terri Basile and husband Jeff Basile, step-son Kenny Witt and wife Christy, granddaughters LeeAnn Harkins, Marissa Moore, and Sydney Moore; step- granddaughters Ashley Cox, Holly Basile, and Avery Witt; great-grandsons Drake Harkins and Sam Harkins; step-great-grandson Sawyer Cox, and step-great-granddaughter Pressley Cox. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Laverne and Doretha, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Aubrey was a long-time member of Hyde Park Baptist Church where he was ordained a deacon in 1972. After graduating from Marlin (TX) High School in 1953, he enlisted and served in the U.S. Air Force until 1957, when he came to Austin to work with H. E. B. Food Stores. It is in Austin where he met Ann L Baldwin, and married her in 1958. Aubrey went to work at Southern Union Gas Co. in Austin in 1959, and retired after more than 35 years with the company, most of them as a welder in the pressure department. He also served as the Union President for Southern Union for approx. 20 years. Aubrey also was a softball and baseball umpire within the City of Austin for many years. His hobbies included collecting die-cast model cars, playing dominoes and "42," and playing the harmonica. He had an incredible sense of humor, and many of his jokes, sayings, and anecdotes became legendary with his coworkers, friends, and relatives.
Services are 2 pm at Chapel of the Hills (Cook-Walden), Friday, November 11, 2016. Graveside service will be held at approx 3:30 pm at Memorial Hill Park cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 pm on Thursday, November 10, at Chapel of The Hills Funeral Home.
