Audrey Lee Jackson

She attended schools in Terral, OK and Ryan, OK. Audrey married Jodie Clifford Jackson, Jr. on June 5, 1943 in Ryan, OK. They lived in many places during his U.S. Army career. She lived a number of years in Wichita Falls before moving to Austin in 1972. She worked for Piggly Wiggly and later Safeway as a meat wrapper before retiring.

Audrey loved reading and painting. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend and will be greatly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Check, Ed, Lois, Ira and Bill; daughter, JoLynn; and son-in-law, Marcus Valentine.

She is survived by her daughters, Vetrice Valentine of Blackwell, OK; Charlotte Stroman of Cibolo, TX and Dona Roberts and husband, Greg Guthrie of Austin; grandsons, William Ponder and wife, Lisa of Eagle, CO, Bryan Ponder and wife, Jeri Sue of Elk River, MN and Andrew Celovsky II and wife, Karen of Elmendorf, TX; as well as six great-grandsons, three great-granddaughters and her beloved dog, Lexie.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2013 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Audrey to the charity of the giver’s choice.
