It is with great sorrow that the family of Ben Rippy announces his homecoming to the Lord’s loving arms on Thursday, May 2nd, 2019. Ben was 43 years young and a longtime resident of Austin, TX. He and his wife, Heather, met in high school in 1992 and were married March 24, 2001, but Ben liked to get credit for the whole 27 years of “time served”.
Ben enjoyed his life and his family and friends to the full extent to which he was capable, and loved his family deeply. No one was just a friend to Ben, everyone was family. Ben was the first to offer whatever he could to anyone and his kindness and generous spirit inspired all that knew him. Ben will be greatly missed not only for this, but also because he was the only one that knew how to fix our computers! Ben’s sharp wit and fantastic humor was infamous and he enjoyed making everyone laugh with his one-liners and sarcastic comments. He always enjoyed the family game night parties, which were full of karaoke, and Ben would always end the night with a round of “More than a Feeling” by Boston. Ben loved 80s classic rock, and our home was always filled with music. Ben had a great enjoyment of video games, comic books and comic book movies and t.v. shows, and enjoyed sharing these things with his nieces and nephews.
These are the memories his loving family hopes we all remember; the kind hearted, funny, intelligent, and empathic blessing of a man that was our Ben. We know that Ben is with his sweet girl Leah and they are enjoying their heartfelt reunion in God’s Grace.
Ben will be forever cherished by his #1 wife, Heather Marie. He is also survived by his parents, Clinton Lamont and Louis Ann Rippy of Dripping Springs, his brother Justin Rippy of Dripping Springs, his sister and her husband, Rebecca and Russell Dittrich of La Grange. Ben’s legacy will live on through his nieces and nephews, Jessie, Trinity, Seraphim, Lyric, Niyah and Christian. Ben will be also be remembered by many friends and family.
Ben is preceded in death by his grandparents Clinton Powell and Willie Maud Rippy of Austin, Louis Joseph and Annie Mae Franzetti of Austin and also his beloved baby girl, his dog Leah.
The family will accept visitors on Friday from 5 – 8 pm Cook Walden 6100 North Lamar Blvd, Austin Texas 78752. On Saturday May 11, 2019 at 10 a.m. the celebration of Ben’s life will be held at the church where he and his wife were married, Gethsemane Lutheran Church at 200 West Anderson Lane, Austin Texas 78742. Interment will follow at Pursley Cemetery located at 4500 Mount Gainor Road, Dripping Springs, Texas 78620.
Since Ben loved animals, the family would love tribute donations be made in Ben’s memory to the Austin Humane Society at http://www.austinhumanesociety.org/.
