Bernard Shirkey Moore left us to be with the Lord, February 11, 2005. He was born in Montgomery, West Virginia, October 12, 1922. Bernard went to West Virginia Tech and received his bachelors degree in Chemistry, then went to the University of West Virginia receiving his masters in Chemistry. He worked in S. Charleston, West Virginia with Union Carbide then transferring to Victoria, Texas. He resided in Austin, working for Texas Air Control Board and retired as a chemist. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Moore, of Austin. Bernard is survived by his daughter, Beth Leverett; and sons, Steve Moore and Mike Moore, of Austin; brother, Raymond and wife Gwen Moore, of Pamplin, Virginia; sister, Betty and husband Charles Launi, of Myrtle Beach, S. Carolina. Also, surviving him are seven nieces and nephews, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was loved greatly while he was here and he will be greatly missed now that hes gone.
