

Bette Anne (B.B.) Brandt passed away on December 22, 2005. She was born on August 16, 1923 to L.J. and Bernice Otto in Decatur, Illinois. B.B. grew up in Chicago. She moved to Dallas when she was sixteen and graduated from Ursuline Academy. She received her nursing degree from St. Pauls Hospital in Dallas, where she met her loving husband, Otto Brandt, Jr., M.D. of Brenham, Texas. B.B. and Otto married in January of 1947. A longtime resident of Austin, B.B. loved playing tennis at Westwood Country Club. She enjoyed needlepointing pillows and Christmas stockings for all her children and grandchildren. She spent numerous summer vacations in Carmel, California with her family. B.B. was a member of the Junior Helping Hand, Womens Medical Auxiliary in Austin and was past President of Chi Omega Mothers Club. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dr. Otto Brandt, Jr. Other survivors include brother Bill Otto and wife Nancy of Orange, California; sister Nancy Matthews and husband R.K. of Barrington, Rhode Island; daughter Kathy Anderson and husband Sam of Houston, son David Brandt and wife Karen of Houston, son Chris Brandt and wife Jennifer of Austin, and her six grandchildren, Rob and Lauren Anderson of Houston, Chris and Becca Brandt of Houston, and Paige and Will Brandt of Austin, in addition to her many other wonderful friends and family members. The Brandt family wished to thank all of the caregivers at Westminster Manor and Angel Care as well as Drs. David Pohl, David Morledge and Michael Pellegrini. A visitation will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel on Saturday, December 24, 2005 at 10:00 a.m., funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Austin Memorial Park.
