Born in Westfield, MA, Bev was a longtime resident of Acton, MA and Poughkeepsie, NY, where she raised her children. She moved to Cedar Park in 2003 to be close to family. She graduated from Rose Hawthorne High School in Acton, MA and worked for many years at Kmart and IBM. She was an avid sports fan, played softball and tennis and forever supported the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
A passionate and selfless member of every community she was a part of, Bev volunteered for 10 years at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie and 13 years at Seton Northwest Hospital in Austin, brightening the days and lives of the hospital’s patients and her fellow volunteers. When not volunteering, she shared her infectious good nature with family and friends at church, at home, and anywhere else lucky enough to have her.
She is survived by Russell McKinstry; daughter Patricia and her husband Michael Becker; sons Philip and his wife Helen, James and his wife Kelly, and Peter; grandchildren Matthew, Caroline, Maeve, Michael, Ryan, Rose and Anna; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends in several states.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Dec. 30 at 10:30AM at St. Mary Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 6100 Lohman Ford Rd, Lago Vista, TX.
Bev has requested that no flowers be bought for her and any money spent should instead go back into the community. She asked that donations benefit the Seton NW Volunteers. Please make checks payable to Seton Williamson Foundation (& note in the Memo section: Seton Northwest Volunteer Special Project) and mail to Seton Northwest Hospital attn: Volunteer Services 11113 Research Blvd, Austin, TX 78759.
