Billie Pearl Webb—Pearl to friends and family—was born in 1929 in West, Texas. Her compassion for others could be seen early on as she cared for her siblings on the family farm. After graduating high school in 1946, she met the love of her life, Dan Moody Webb and the two soon embarked on a life-long adventure together. In 1954, following the death of her mother, Pearl and Dan took in her father and eight minor siblings to raise as their guardians.
After her siblings were grown, Pearl found new joy in spoiling her seventeen “grandchildren”—all of whom cherish the times spent playing in the pool, eating bunny cakes, or just running through the sprinklers. These times were especially comforting to Pearl following the death of her beloved Dan Moody in 1983.
Although burdened by the pain of a deteriorating back in her later years, Pearl was determined to stay active and not burden others. But in truth, she could never be a burden; she uplifted everyone she met. All that she ever asked for was dinner out and conversation—no cell phones allowed.
Pearl left us suddenly on April 10th, leaving a void in family that cannot be easily filled. However, her spirit will live on in the numerous people whose lives she touched.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 16, 2018 at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.
