

He was preceded in death by his brother W. D. Barnes and sister Mary Jackson. Bobby will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years, Lois, and his children, Richard (Angie), Sue (Steve) and Pam (Monty). He will also be fondly remembered by his five grandchildren, Craig, Kristi, Kari, Jennifer, and Lance and his six great grandchildren Kinley, Hadley, Case, Raylan, Emerson, and Lincoln.
Bobby served in the military in World War II and the Korean War. Upon being discharged from the military, Bobby was employed by Shell Oil for 30 years. While employed at Shell Oil, Bobby was very active with the local O.C.A.W.-4367 in Pasadena and the state AFL-CIO. Bobby was appointed commissioner for the Texas Industrial Accident Board by Governor Dolph Briscoe. After serving the State of Texas for eleven years in this position, Bobby and his wife Lois built their dream home in Dripping Springs, Texas.
A Funeral Service in memory of Bobby will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Meyer of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Texas State Cemetery.
Honoring Bobby as pallbearers will be Craig Sullivan, Daniel Garrett, Chase Kruger, Lance Barnes, Marco Loaiza, Juan Barajas, Gavian Barajas, and Michael Hunter.
