He worked as a typewriter repairman in his earlier years. In retirement, Barney enjoyed creating elaborate BBQ smokers, trailers, and other metal art.
All who spent time with Barney quickly became his friend and familiar with his amazing life stories. He brought the past to life through conversation, captivating those around him. Barney most enjoyed sitting at a table, hot cup of coffee in hand, and surrounded by family and friends. Easter and Thanksgiving were his most favorite time of the year.
Though Barney has left our sight, the essence of who he was remains an indelible part of our lives. Barney is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Elvira Martinez, wife Ester D Martinez, son, David Martinez, Brothers Eusebio Saucedo & Pedro Martinez, & granddaughter, Diana Olvera.
Survived by daughter, Elvira M Olvera, sons Bonifacio Martinez Jr. and Debbie, Ricardo Martinez and wife Tammy & sister Guadalupe M Torres. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews all of whom held a special place in his heart.
