

Bryan was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember Bryan not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Bryans legacy will live on through his family. He is survived by his loving wife Pamela Thornburg, his children Bradley Thornburg, Dylan Smothers and Corey Smothers. Bryan was a cherished grandfather to Sullivan Thornburg, Kyla Smothers and Lane Smothers. He also leaves behind his treasured mother Sharon Swanson Epperson and profound relationships with all his siblings. Bryan was predeceased by his father Duane LeRoy Thornburg.
Bryan was a proud Marine, honored to be a member of the elite Marine Corps Reconnaissance, with expertise in Parachute and Scuba. His military accolades include Good Conduct Medal, Rifle Expert, and the Meritorious Unit Commendation. In his early and mid-20s Bryan took immense pleasure in playing on the Marine Corps Rugby team. He played Wing Forward, Scrum Half and anywhere else he was needed on the field.
Those who knew Bryan will remember him for his sincere smile, infectious laugh and deep-rooted faith in Jesus. He had an unwavering commitment to spreading kindness to everyone he encountered. His rare gift for leaving a lasting impression on those who crossed his path will live on through his friends and family.
We will honor the life of Bryan Duane Thornburg on Saturday March 1, 2025, at 11am. The Military Honors and Celebration of Life will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home located at 5416 Parkcrest Drive, Austin Texas 78731.
