Bryant Lee Jewell, age 74, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013. He was born on June 28, 1938 at Providence Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated from Argentine High School in Kansas City and attended the University of Kansas. Bryant was a proud U.S. Marine serving in the military from 1959-1963. He was a volunteer firefighter in Shawnee, Kansas from 1972-1976. Bryant retired from Butler Manufacturing Company in 2001 after 38 years of service. Butler transferred Bryant to Germantown, Tennessee for three years before moving the family to Austin in 1981.
Bryant was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy Jewell.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy; son, Derrick Jewell and wife, Cindy; daughter, Stacey Parsley and husband, Jim; six grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks with graveside service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
