

Calvin Lindy Frederickson, age 77, died unexpectedly Saturday, January 8, 2005 at his hunting lease in Uvalde, Texas doing what he loved. Calvin was born in Manor, Texas on February 19, 1927. He was the son of Rudolph and Alice Fredrickson. A native of Texas, Calvin was an avid sportsman and spent many happy times hunting with his nephews and friends on their various hunting leases. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Nita and brother-in-law, Howard D. Pringle on their many trips in the United States, Alaska, Canada and abroad. In their many travels, Calvin and Nita made sure they took in the sites and sounds of Las Vegas, Reno and several resorts in Louisiana and Mississippi. Calvin attended schools in the Manor area and graduated from Manor High School in 1944. Upon graduation Calvin enlisted in the United States Army and served in Korea during that conflict. After leaving the service in 1954, Calvin worked for the Texas Highway Department for a brief period before starting his career with Continental Insurance Corp. in San Antonio, Abilene and Austin in the insurance claim field. In 1982, after 27 years, he retired to his farm near Manor, where he farmed, raised exotic birds and had a small cattle operation with his nephews. His wife of 47 years, Juanita Pringle Frederickson, survives him, as well as one sister, Mary Nell Carlson and sister-in-law, Evelyn Fredrickson of Manor; brother-in-law, Howard D. Pringle of Austin and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by both parents, a sister, Doris Weiss and brother, Weldon Fredrickson. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Services will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by The Reverend Edwin Wilder. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park. Pallbearers are nephews, Gerald Weiss, Lamar Weiss, Gregg Fredrickson, Terry Pringle, Lenny Olson, Danny Bonnet, Carl Dean and Mike Weiss.
