

Born on November 16, 1939, in Beacon, New York, Carolyn was an identical twin and one of five children. Her diverse career included working at a prison for the criminally insane and co-owning a bar with her husband in downtown Beacon. After relocating to Texas, Carolyn retired from HEB and dedicated her time to enjoying family, friends, and traveling.
Carolyn enjoyed cooking and eating good food. She took delight in cooking for family and friends and often included her mother’s cherished recipes such as lasagna, potato pancakes, and chocolate mayonnaise cake.
Her joy in life was evident in the time she spent with family and her commitment to brightening others' days. Known for her friendly nature and encouraging spirit, Carolyn had no enemies and inspired everyone she met.
She is survived by her siblings, John Way of Beacon, New York, and Rhonda Wroblewski of Poughkeepsie, New York; her son Michael O’Connor and his wife Sharon; her daughter Maureen Varnado and her husband Randy; her grandchildren Michael O’Connor and his wife Lisa, Kaitlyn Varnado and fiancé Andrew Ford; her great-grandchildren Lucas and Makayla O’Connor, her nephews Richard Way, John Way and niece Angela Fannett.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Margie Way, her husband William Sneyd, her brother Richard Way, and her twin sister Marilyn May.

A visitation for Carolyn will be held Friday, September 6, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749. A graveside service will occur Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
