Cathy Michelle Loggins, 61, of Round Rock, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, surrounded by the love and prayers of her daughters. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and lifelong nurse, Cathy embodied compassion, strength, style, and unwavering faith in every step she took — usually in heels.
Born on November 1, 1963, in El Dorado, Arkansas, Cathy was raised in the small town of Strong, Arkansas, where her love of music began to blossom. At the age of 7, she began playing the piano — not just as a hobby, but as a lifelong form of worship, expression, and healing that would comfort others and anchor her soul throughout every season of life. She graduated from Strong High School and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in May of 1986. A true nurse at heart, Cathy dedicated her life to caring for others — not just in her profession, but in every moment of her life. Her hands brought healing, her words brought comfort, and her presence brought peace.
After moving to Texas to pursue new opportunities, Cathy continued her work in healthcare with grace and diligence, touching countless lives along the way. She was known for her warmth, wit, quiet strength, and unmatched elegance. Even on her longest days, she carried herself with purpose — always polished, always praying, always present.
Whether at a patient’s bedside, behind a piano, or quietly interceding in prayer, Cathy radiated light. Her life was a beautiful symphony of faith, love, and service. Though her hands now rest, the music she created — in hearts and homes — plays on.
Of all the roles she held, none was more cherished than being a mother. She was the proud and loving mother of Tarneka Porter, Brittney Shaw, and DeJerria Wainright. Her daughters were her greatest blessing, and she poured her love into them through every sacrifice, every word of encouragement, and every whispered prayer. Her love was fierce, loyal, and unconditional.
Cathy is survived by her loving parents, James and Bertha Loggins; her brother, Kenneth Loggins; her daughters Tarneka Porter, Brittney Shaw, and DeJerria Wainright; her grandchildren: Destinee Loggins, Douglas Porter III, D’Marrion Porter, DeJavien Porter, Karrington Shaw, and Khalyse Shaw; and her great-grandchildren: Aaliyah Ware Ware and Ayuanna Ware. Her legacy continues through them — in every laugh, every piano note, and every act of kindness.
