Cecelia "Cici" Marie Moore

Cecelia "Cici" Marie Moore, age 60, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. She was born October 10, 1961 in Germany where her father was stationed with the U.S. Army. Cici then grew up on and around military installations in Europe, Hawaii, Virginia, and the Washington D.C. metro area. She attended community college in Maryland before moving to Austin, where she worked as a Texas state employee for over 30 years.

Cici will be remembered by her family and friends for her commitment to family, love of music, enjoyment of deep sea fishing, and passion for football. She delighted in being a Washington Redskins fan deep in the heart of Texas, but also came late to be a fan of Clemson football in support of her nephew’s alma mater. A private person, Cici also enjoyed watching shows that varied from Hallmark movies to TV Land reruns.

Cici was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Evelyn Silva, as well as her Grandma Maye Newby. She is survived by her sister Vicki Galpin (Tim), as well as her niece and nephew Jessica and John Galpin.

The family would like to thank her colleagues and friends at the Texas Department of Public Safety for their care and support of Cici, and for sharing their fond memories of her with us.

A memorial visitation for Cici will be held Friday, January 21, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas 78752. Final arrangements in Maryland are pending.
