Charlene Ellis, 82, passed away suddenly on 4/26/2025, in Austin, TX. She was born 10/10/1942, in Cass Lake, MN to Charles and Beatrice Ellis, Jr and was raised on the Leech Lake Reservation by her grandparents Charles and Julia Ellis, Sr. She was very proud of her Chippewa Indian Heritage.
She resided in Duluth until the early 1970s, when she relocated to Kerrville. In 2020, she moved to Manchaca to live with her daughter Lori, but she frequently requested to return to Kerrville to spend time with her son Paul. Her final weekend was spent in Kerrville.
Charlene loved searching garage sales for costume jewelry, Elvis memorabilia, and Native American art. She kept busy with bingo, word search books, paint-by-sticker books, magazines, and YouTube.
Charlene is survived by her children Jimmy LeBeau, Jerri McManus, Brigette LeBeau, Charles LeBeau, Paul Vargas Jr, Lori Vargas and by many grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and sister Luella Kirsh.
A memorial service to honor Charlene’s life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Faith Christian Church, located at 1205 Sidney Baker South, Kerrville, Texas 78028.
