

Charles was born September 21, 1951, in Hondo, Texas to J. O. Eaddy and Helen Bohmfalk Eaddy. He grew up in Schertz, Texas and graduated from Schertz Clemens High School. He received his bachelor’s degree from West Texas State University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Charles began his career with USAA in San Antonio. He also held positions at Deloitte Haskins and Sells and EDS that provided him the opportunity to travel throughout the United States as well as Europe and the Middle East. Charles moved to Austin in 2000, where he worked for the Texas Department of Transportation for many years. In his spare time, Charles enjoyed playing softball and basketball, cheering on his favorite sports teams, including the Texas Longhorns, and spending time with his family.
Charles met and married his wife, Rebekah Shannon Eaddy, at Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas. They were blessed with a daughter, Julia. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Anna Hellsten. He is survived by his wife, Rebekah of Austin, Texas; daughter, Julia, and her fiancée Kyle Goodwin of Plano, Texas; brother Lloyd Eaddy and wife Flo of Marion, Texas; sister Janet Dougherty and husband Wayne of Schertz, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful husband, an amazing father, and much loved by his large extended family.
His family would like to thank the staff at Seton Hospital and Hospice Austin’s Christopher House for the end of life care and love provided to him and his family. In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to Hospice Austin’s Christopher House, Age of Central Texas, First Baptist Church of Austin, or the charity of your choice in his honor.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 2, 2017, at First Baptist Church of Austin, at 901 Trinity St, Austin, Texas. Interment to follow at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 3, 2017, at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.
