

He was born in Long Prairie, Minnesota on October 30, 1921 to Rev. Lane Caruthers Findley and Marian Jennings. He was attending Colorado College at the beginning of WWII and enlisted into the Army Air Corp. He received Pilot training at Mesa, Arizona at Falcon Field from both the RAF and United States and upon graduation was eligible to wear the wings of both countries.
He graduated from Omaha University. In the Air Force in addition to Pilot training, he received Special Weapons Training. He was in Strategic Air Command (SAC) at Omaha, Nebraska. Latter years were spent in the Missile Command at Vandenberg AFB.
His Air Force career began with a year in India flying the Hump, where he made 103 missions. He served a year in Vietnam with the Tactical Air Lift Wing.
He retired from the USAF in 1973. He eventually went to work for Lockheed and was sent to Tehran in 1978 where he and his wife lived for a year.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Charle Stevens and son-in-law, Jack Stevens.
He is survived by his wife, Carroll, sons, Randy and wife, Linda, Daniel and wife, Lisa, Lane and wife, Naomi and Pat; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial services with full military honors will be held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 22, 2011.

Chuck and his wife loved their friends, travel, and golf and Onion Creek.
