Charles N. Mccarthy

Charles “Charlie” N. McCarthy, age 87, entered his new life on July 31, 2003, after a brief illness with cancer. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 2, 1916. Charlie will be cremated. Charlie is survived by his wife of 57 years, Annabelle “Pat” Heine McCarthy; daughters Patricia M. Carvajal and Marilyn F. Chastain; sons Charles D. McCarthy, Robert P. McCarthy, his wife Karen and their children Crystal and Christopher McCarthy all of Austin and grandson Charles Paul McCarthy of Forest Home, Alabama; and sister Catherine Smith, her husband Ed and their son Daniel Smith of Boston, Massachusetts. Mr. McCarthy, a Navy veteran of WWII, worked in the construction industry in Boston, then in Construction Engineering for the City of Austin. He retired in May 1981. A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 9, 2003 in “Remembrance Gardens at Riverbend”, 4214 Capital of Texas Hwy North in Austin. Following the services a gathering of friends and family will be at the County Line On The Hill, 6500 West Bee Caves Rd., Austin,(512)327-1742.
