Christopher "Chris" Lattner, 41, of Cedar Park, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025, at Cornerstone Hospital in Round Rock, with his loving mother by his side. His passing followed a courageous battle after suffering a sudden seizure and cardiac arrest on December 26.
Born on July 18, 1983, in Webster, Texas, to James Lattner and Patricia Boyd (née Lanig), Chris was a brilliant mind with an infectious sense of humor and a deep, abiding faith in Christ. He graduated at the top of his class from Clear Lake High School in 2001, later earning his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2005, then subsequently returning to earn his MBA in 2010. Throughout his distinguished career, Chris excelled as an engineer at NASA and Dell, then as a product manager at Microsoft and HP, before ultimately becoming an entrepreneur and founding Aria Lattner, a successful e-commerce women's fashion brand.
Beyond his professional achievements, Chris was known for his kindness, his loving nature, and his passionate approach to life. He was an avid fitness enthusiast who trained dedicatedly in Brazilian jiu-jitsu at John’s Gym Austin. His incredible intellect was matched only by his capacity for love and his devotion to his family and faith. Chris had a special place in his heart for dogs, and shared ten wonderful years with his loyal dog Dodger, whom he adopted from Austin Pets Alive in 2007. He now joins Dodger in heaven, who passed away in 2017.
Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Mariko "Mari", and their precious one-year-old son, Leonidas "Leo"; his father, James Lattner; his mother, Patricia Boyd; his brothers Jason, Michael, and Kevin; and his playful golden retrievers, Aria and Luna. His greatest joy was his family, and he took immense pride in being a loving husband and father.
A funeral service will be held at Cook Walden Chapel of the Hills, 9700 Anderson Mill Rd, Austin, TX 78750, on February 15, 2025, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Chris's name to Austin Pets Alive, where his journey with Dodger began.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and condolences on the funeral home's website.
