Clint grew up in Independence, Missouri, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and graduated from Missouri Valley College. He retired from Merchants Bonding Company where he was Vice President and Branch Manager of the Austin, Texas office for an extended number of years. Clint was a great businessman and was responsible for opening the Austin office for Merchants and making it successful here in Texas. He hired the best employees and was very successful in attracting the best independent insurance agents in Texas. He was previously a member of the Austin Country Club.
Clint loved sports. In high school he played football, basketball, and ran track. He was especially great in track and won the state championship in hurdles. His love of sports continued throughout his life. He loved to play golf with his friends at the Austin Country Club. He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports on television including golf and baseball. His favorite team was the Chicago Cubs, but he loved watching any baseball game. He was also a fan of the Texas Longhorns. Clint loved the outdoors and traveling. There were many family vacations to the Texas coast, Port Aransas and Mustang Island. Other favorite trips included the Mayan Dude Ranch in Bandera, Texas, and trips to see the mountains in Colorado, the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone Park, and Mesa Verde. Clint enjoyed reading western novels as we think he was a cowboy at heart.
