

He graduated from Liberty Hill High School and received his CPA certification from Nixon Clay College, Austin, TX. While attending college, Connie worked for Austin Coca Cola Bottling Company, where he remained in service there 38 years until his retirement. Connie was married to Geniva Hays Simpson for 55 years and had 4 children, Richard, Kenneth (deceased), Marcy and Phillip.
He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Lester Simpson, mother Eula Mae Simpson, Father-in-law, Lee Hays, Mother-in-law, Winnie Hays, Brother-in-law, D.W. Hays, Sister-in-law Nellie Hays, infant son Kenneth and brothers, James, David and Robert.
He is survived by his wife, Geniva, son, Richard Simpson (Nancy), daughter, Marcy Simpson (David), son, Phillip Simpson, grandchildren, Donna, Trey, Michelle, Terry, Dylan, 6 great-grandchildren, Sister-in-law Cindy Simpson, Brother-in-law Glen Hays, Sister-in-law, Shirley Hays, many nieces and nephews and many great friends and neighbors.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening, on Monday, the 15th of April 2013, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
Graveside services will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, the 16th of April 2013, at Liberty Hill Cemetery, Liberty Hill, Texas under the direction of Cook-Walden Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Trey Boyd, Dylan Vineyard, Danny Hays, Jr., Wendell McCleod, Jimmy Simpson and Gilbert Vickers.
