Mr. Worthen was born in Chelmsford, Massachusetts on May 2, 1922 to Nellie Curtis and Merle Worthen. Curt married Carolyn Katie Carter in 1943 before enlisting in the Army Air Corp in 1944. After Officers Candidate School he achieved the rank of First Lieutenant and was sent to the Pacific Theatre. He piloted a P-51 from Iwo Jima and flew many successful missions into Japan. Curt was a highly decorated World War II pilot. He returned to his home in Amherst, N. H. and worked all of New England as a manufacturers rep. He was a captain for the volunteer fire department, a school board member and an avid golfer at the Amherst Country Club. He is preceeded in death by his wife Katie Worthen, grandson Andrew Louis Robertson and sister Barbara Gorman. Curt is survived by his daughter Carol Robertson and her husband Pat H. Robertson of Austin. His grandchildren Anne R. Seay and Jay Robertson of San Antonio and his great grandchildren: Campbell, Andrew and Arthur Seay and Brittany and Conley Robertson. Mr. Worthen is also survived by his son Curtis R. Worthen, Jr. and his wife Sue of Indianapolis, Indiana. Curt enjoyed flying his plane into his later years, and took many trips with Katie viewing the beautiful New England foliage.
