

Cynthia Elaine Edmondson- Smith (Empress Elaine), 56, of Austin and formerly of Nashville, was a US Navy Veteran and an Graduate of Concordia University at Austin, Texas. She had been employed by various state agencies. Empress Elaine founded Texas Tea Cakes & Tiaras Red Hat Society of Austin, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Wayne Smith, in 2009.
Cynthia is survived by her daughter, Chereigne` Smith, her mother, Shirley Ivey, her sister, Kathy Ivey, her brothers, Gerry, Marcus, Anthony, Clark and Craig Ivey, her brothers-in-law, Herbert Greenwood (Terry), Lloyd, Otis and Patrick Mitchell; her sisters-in-law, Jennifer Greenwood-Davis (Nathan (deceased)), Tangee and Kime Mitchell; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews; god-children, Trinity, Stephen and Tiara Bouldwin. Special friends of the family, Hazella Thomas, Martha Gardner, Curtis and Patricia Gardner, Bud and Terra Raine, Yolanda (Yolo) Arriaga. Other close friends and devoted members of the TX Tea Cakes & Tiaras Red Hat Society.
Memorial services will be conducted at four o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 3rd of November 2011, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas with Pastor Elijah Holland officiating.
