

Dale Rogers, 74, of Austin, TX met Jesus 9/16/09. He was a devoted, loving, husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Rogers; daughter Jennifer Bailey; son Ryan Rogers; granddaughter Brianna Bailey; along with other family and friends. He was born in El Paso, to O.L. & Helen Rogers and, and soon moved to Corpus Christi. His family bought the property on the Frio River in Leakey. He graduated from Uvalde High School. He attended North Texas State University and received a Masters from Southern Illinois University before beginning his career as a teacher. He and Barbara moved to Waco and Dale enjoyed his time at TSTI. He and Barbara moved then to Austin where Dale began the Automotive department at ACC. He loved his time here and the students who still would call him for help with their cars. Dale retired 12 years ago and enjoyed his retirement. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian church for 38 years. Dale felt the importance of helping his "neighbor" and he did so with great joy. He really enjoyed his volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity, Red Cross and West Austin Care Givers. A memorial service will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 3002 Northland Drive, on Monday, 9/21, at 3:00 p.m. The family requests any memorials be made to Habitat for Humanity or the American Red Cross in memory of Dale Rogers.
