Donald Ray Wright

Donald Ray Wright was born on December 01, 1954, and went to heaven on November 03, 2024 at the age of 69. He was the 2nd child born to Edgar and Ruth Wright of Austin, Tx. On January 02, 1955, Donald was baptized into the Lutheran faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church by Pastor Albert Jesse. In 1956, the family transferred to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Austin. Donald attended Redeemer Lutheran School through 6th grade, Lamar Jr. High, and McCallum High School, graduating in 1973. On May 05, 1968, he was confirmed at Redeemer by Pastor Ray Schkade. After high school Donald attended Durham's Business College and received a degree in drafting. He began working part-time at the age of 16 for H-E-B Grocery and in 1974 accepted a full-time position, ultimately staying with the company for 36 years.

Donald was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Lee Wright, and all grandparents.

He is survived by his mother, Ruth Krause Wright; sisters, Marilyn Hilgendorf and Krisi Wells (Barrett Poehl); nephews, Jameson Wells (Jennifer DeLong Wells), Tyler Poehl and David Hilgendorf; nieces, Elyssa Bryant (Mikie Bryant), and Sarah Hilgendorf; great-niece, Kali Bryant; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church 1500 W. Anderson Ln. Austin, Tx on Friday November 08, 2024 at 10:00 AM, and can be streamed at redeemer.net. Interment will be held at Lytton Springs Cemetery.
