Doris Louise Johnson, 90, a lifelong resident of Austin, Texas passed away on May 14, 2025. Doris was born on July 26, 1934, to Harry E. Sr. and Anna Ludvigsen Johnson. She graduated from Austin High School in 1952 where she was a proud member of the Austin High School Red Jackets.
Doris loved her home, which she and her husband built in 1958. With a growing family she became a talented homemaker and cook with many family favorite recipes. And whenever there was spare time, she used it in her yard nurturing the trees and lawn. She could often be found there picking-up pecans and plums and then readily sharing them with family and friends.
From a young age, Doris loved the companionship of her pets. She opened her heart and home to many over the years, but in recent years it was Penny the beagle who held a special bond. Bridge was another passion for Doris, and through bridge she met many lifelong friends to share friendly tournaments and advice.
Doris loved her family and is survived by sons Les Johnson & Debbie Beck, Larry & Kim Johnson, and Lee Johnson; daughter Linda Gindler & John Prentice; grandchildren Erika and Dillon Johnson; brother Glenn & Florence Johnson; and sister-in-law Donna Johnson. Plus, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
