Edward Gordon Doty, Jr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 13th. A native of Pecos and a long time resident of Austin, Gordon worked for the State of Texas and Lumberman’s Investment Corporation. He also taught data processing at Durham’s Business College. He was a graduate of the University of Texas and for his entire life he was a devoted Longhorn fan and supporter. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Chula Doty. He is survived by his son, John Gordon Doty and John’s wife, Margaret Allen Doty.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7pm at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar in Austin.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 10am at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home following a private interment.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or Animal Trustees of Austin.
