

Edward (Ed) Paul Rogus, 72, passed away Saturday May 3rd, 2025, at St. David’s Hospital in Round Rock, TX. He was born September 17th, 1952 in Bellefonte, PA to Edward and Mary Rogus. He grew up in Snow Shoe, PA and graduated from Bald Eagle Area High School in 1970. Ed then attended Williamsport Area Community College where he met his future wife Carol that he married in 1973.
Ed graduated from Williamsport Area Community College with an Associate Degree in Electrical Technology in 1972. After 5 years working at Zenith, Ed accepted a position with Tracor Systems in Austin, TX in 1978. Ed, Carol, and their cat Sylvia drove in their 1974 MGB from Pennsylvania to Texas; a car which he has kept to this day.
He completed his Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas in 1990 while working for BAE Systems. Ed retired in 2019 from BAE Systems as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. He spent his well-earned retirement golfing, designing a backyard trail, working on the “honey do” list, and tinkering with his classic cars. Ed was involved in several auto clubs and classic car shows around the Austin area. In 2021, Ed and Carol also started spending summers back near his hometown in Central PA to be closer to family members and old friends. He was an active member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Austin.
Ed is survived by his wife, Carol, his sons Jeff and his wife Stacey, Gavin and his wife Danielle, and his grandchildren Garrett and Liam and many family members and friends. Also surviving are his dog, Kiah and cats, Shadow and Edison.

A memorial service for Edward will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 1:00 PM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10205 N FM 620, Austin, Texas 78726.
