Nanny’s heart was large enough to hold her children, grandchildren, animals, and anyone in need of a hug, a listening ear, or a strong cup of tea (or a generous glass of wine). She expressed love in simple, meaningful ways: through warm meals, shared laughter, and her beautiful hand-knit gifts. Many of us carry a piece of her kindness in the form of slippers, stockings, or blankets she crafted with care.
Her generosity was boundless. She made each person feel like her favorite — whether spoiling the grandkids, sneaking treats to her pets, or topping off your glass before you asked. She taught us that life is best enjoyed with good company, hearty laughter, and something delicious on the table.
Nanny reminded us to find joy in the little things: a well-cooked meal, a blooming plant, a silly joke, or the quiet rhythm of knitting. She lived with warmth, humor, and a spirit that made every day brighter.
Though we miss her dearly, we take comfort in imagining her surrounded by her beloved animals, glass in hand, knitting slippers for the angels. Heaven may have streets of gold, but thanks to Nanny, it surely has warm toes too.
A celebration of life for Eileen will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, Texas 78749.
