

Elaine Hampton Burck Elaine Hampton Burck died Friday afternoon December 1, 2006 at her residence in the Summit at Westlake in Austin. Elaine was born in Whitney, Texas on November 11, 1913 to Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Hampton, and celebrated her 93rd birthday last month. Affectionately known as Nana, she recently enjoyed the Thanksgiving Holiday with her son and daughter-in-law, grandchildren and spouses, and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Burck, her parents, and her two brothers Marion and Milton Hampton. Elaines husband Bob Burck was Senior Vice President of Braniff International Airways. They lived in Austin until 1953 when they moved to Dallas to pursue their career with Braniff. Representing Braniff they traveled and entertained with Presidents, Ambassadors, Governors, state officials, members of Congress (J.J. Jake Pickle was a favorite), members of the Texas Legislature, as well as other dignitaries and many, many close friends. Elaine and Bob were active members of Lovers Lane Methodist Church in Dallas. Elaine moved back to Austin in 1999 to be closer to her family. Elaine is survived by her son Dan Burck and his wife Penny of Austin; grandchildren Brian Burck and wife Monica of Fort Collins, CO, Rebecca Chiarodit and husband Mike of Toluca Lake, CA; Great-grandchildren Rob and Christina Burck, Jeff Barker and Danny Chiarodit. She will also be missed by Pennys children Terry Quinn and husband Graham of Austin, Ben Richards and wife Leigh of Austin, Claire Richards of Dallas; grandchildren Robert and Hudson Quinn and Mollie Richards. The family wishes to extend its thanks for the love and care given to Elaine by Dr. Kent Beasley; Adele, Adriana, Roxanne, Gloria and many others. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2006 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Austin. Funeral services will be conducted by Elaine and Bobs longtime friend, Dr. Don Benton at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 in the Chapel at Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Mausoleum, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas. Honorary pallbearers: Shirley Bird Perry, Dunbar Chambers, Dr. Brooks Goldsmith, Terry Hight III, Jim Lawrence, Elaine Moore, Mary Ellen Oliver, Mike Roche and Mike Schless.
