

On March 16, 1957, Elmer Willis Terrell, Jr. was born better known as T-BONE in Alexandria, Louisiana (Rapides, Parish). To his beloved parents, Elmer Willis Terrell, Sr. of Pineville, Louisiana and Ora Lee Whalon of Wharton, Texas. He was raised on the Eastside of Austin, Texas. He was well known for his dice game and coining the phrase, “Wake Up Eastside”. T-BONE was well known and very respected for his charm and charismatic personality. Amongst his peers he was known as T-BONE , but his family addressed him as Buddy. T-BONE attended Blacksbear Elementary in East Austin. Graduating from Reagan High School. He enlisted in the USMC immediately following graduation at only 17 years old in 1974, during the tail end of the Vietnam era. He was stationed in 29 palms Marine Corp base and Camp Pendleton. Elmer met Regina Rockett in San Diego California, they had only one child together, daughter Rochelle. Elmer was honorably discharged from the Marine Corp in 1978. He then went on to be a Radio DJ. His favorite band is Maze and Frankie Beverly. In the 1980’s, he was also a DJ at the Historic TCs night Club in East Austin now known as The Sahara Lounge,
He is survived by his children Rochelle, Brandon, Anastasia, Taylor. Grandchildren, Danae, Dante, Tramille, DJ and Amira. Stepchildren, Marcell, Michelle, Terence Skyy. Sister, Patricia Johnson; and brother, younger Lee Otis Whalon. On September 7, 2023 T-BONE went home to join his mother, Ora Lee Whalon; father, Elmer Willis Terrell, Sr.; brother, Robin “Cartwright” Whalon; and sister, Jaqueline Allen Brown; nephew, Quincy Johnson; and niece, Ebony Warner.
T-BONE is loved and missed by his nieces, Teresa, Tysham Riba, Phyliss, Robbin and Kimberly. Nephews, Darrick ,Terrence, and Robert; many cousins as well as his Eastside Family.
