Devoted wife of Norman H. West for 61 years and mother of Michael (Victoria), Barbara Caserio (James) and Charles. Sister of the late Yaichiro (Yaeko), Ayako Kojima (Iwao), Mayako, Jiro (Kimiko) and Sister Maria Isabel (Mutsuko) of the Mercedarian Missionaries of Berriz and survived by Reiko Yamamoto (Shinji) and Yoko. Also survived by grandchildren, Heather, Matthew, Emily, Victor, Nina, Angelica and 4 great-grandchildren.
Emi was born on January 19, 1923 in Tokyo, Japan. Her father was in the Diplomatic Service of Japan and she spent much of her childhood in the United States, Panama and Argentina. She received her degree from the Tokyo College of Pharmacy. She enjoyed flowers, singing, handicrafts, line dancing and her many friends.
Visitation at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral home, 3125 N. Lamar, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, September 5. Funeral service at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 4311 Small Dr., Friday, September 6 at 10:00 am. Interment in Centralia, Illinois.
