

Evelene was a faithful member of the St. Elmo Baptist Church for the past 30 plus years and remained active until her health failed her. She worked in the church in many roles including Choir President, Sunday School Secretary, and Deaconess and wherever her services were needed she attempted to be there and answer the call to serve.
Evelene worked for the Austin State Supported Living Center formally known as the Austin State School for twenty-three plus years. She was well known and respected on the campus for always providing a high level of care for the clients and ensured that staff who worked under her did the same. Even after retirement she continued to work on volunteer committees to improve the quality of life for those she served.
She is preceded in death by her parents, LA and Estella Williams; daughter, Teresa Canada; brothers, L.A. Jr., Johnny and Dennis Williams.
Evelene leaves to cherish her memory her children, Lawrence Williams, Raymond Ezell, Donna Cooper (Levon) Loretta Ross and Carla Perkins; grandchildren, Lonnie, Ashley, Evelyn, Alisha, Aurther, Jessica, Michelle, Asrelle, Louis and Brandon; great-grandchildren, LaNae, Lonnie Jr., Jada, Terrance Jr., Sonny, Ariyana and TaShaun; her sister, Stella Webb; her brother, Arthur Williams; along with a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Ave. Funeral Service will be celebrated at 1:30 pm on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at St. Elmo Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
