Florence Enggren

Florence B. Enggren, age 89 of Austin, Texas, died Friday, November 7, 2008. She was born April 2, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois. She moved to Austin in 1969 with her husband Louis Enggren. Flo worked at the Veteran's Administration until her retirement in 1975. Retirement never slowed Flo down, but rather gave her more time for bowling, bingo, gambling trips, playing cards and shooting pool. She moved to a retirement home in 2000 where she promptly beat all the men at pool. Flo was a member of the Redeeming Grace Lutheran Church where she was involved in numerous activities. Flo is survived by her "daughter", Debbie Powell of Austin, Texas; her brother, Robert Bolduan of California; her sister-in-law, Ruth Dornfeld of Oregon; and several nieces and nephews. She's playing pinochle with Lou again! Visitation will be held Monday, November 10 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 11 at 2:30 P.M. at Redeeming Grace Lutheran Church, 1010 FM 1626 in Manchaca, Texas. Internment will follow at Forest Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers are: Bobby Powell, Daniel Powell, Gene O. Parker, Randy Mergen, Leroy Anderson and Gordon Lewis. Honorary pallbearer is Steven Powell. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Flo's name to Redeeming Grace Lutheran Church.
