Florence Angela (Friesenhahn) Weise, 95, of New Braunfels, Texas passed away peacefully at home on January 1, 2026, in Austin, Texas surrounded by family and friends. She was born on June 29, 1930, in New Braunfels, Texas to Emilie Anna and Pius Friesenhahn.
Florence attended St. Peter and Paul Catholic school in New Braunfels. Growing up Florence worked on the family farm with her father, Pius and her siblings. She became a Nurse's Aide, working in a nursing home in New Braunfels. She then moved to Austin where she worked as a nurse's Aide at Monte Siesta Nursing and Rehabilitation, where she met her husband, Herman V. (Buddy) Weise. Florence and Buddy married on December 28, 1974, at St. Ignatius Martyr Church in Austin, Texas.
Florence was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Buddy, parents: Emilie Anna and Pius Friesenhahn, sister, Beatrice and brother-in-law, Philip Hage, Sr., sister, Genevieve and brother-in-law, Chester Kollodziej, brothers: Andrew Friesenhahn and Claude Friesenhahn.
Florence is survived by her sister, Clare and brother-in-law, Ray Lucera and sister-in-law, Annie Friesenhahn (Claude) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
Florence greatly enjoyed volunteering at Barton Hills Elementary School, cleaning St. Mary's Cathedral and St. Ignatius Martyr Churches. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends. She was active in church organizations and activities.
Thank you to her many caregivers especially Teresa andCandy, nieces: Kathy, Elizabeth, Mary and great niece, Ashley as well as Hospice Austin.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, Texas; with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 9:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Cathedral, 203 E 10th St., Austin, Texas.
Committal Service will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Austin, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Richard Hage, Michael Kollodziej, Eric Hage, Christopher Kilpatrick, Joe Wall and Joseph Wall. Honorary Pallbearers will be Philip Hage Jr., Neil Lucera, Jason Hage, Aaron Hage, Stevie Manz, Zachary Manz, Kameron Kelley and Philip Hage Ill.
