

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Florencio Gonzales Zamora, who departed this world on March 22, 2025, at the age of 74.
Florencio was born on June 10, 1950, in Menard, Texas, to Juan and Justa Zamora. In 1971, he moved to Austin, Texas, where he built a life filled with hard work, love, and dedication to his family and community. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, he was known for his kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and unwavering love of family.
He found joy in gardening and cooking, playing the guitar, a good game of Mexican Bingo and of course, his University of Texas Longhorns. Florencio had a gift for teaching others and took great pride in sharing his knowledge and skills. He shared his time with everyone, always putting others before himself and leaving a lasting impact on those around him.
Florencio is survived by his loving wife, Katherine; his daughters, Nicole Botello and Ami Lico and husband, Andre; and his son, Kevin Zamora; his brother, Daniel Zamora and wife, Linda Zamora; brother, Ector Zamora and wife, Alice Zamora; sister, Genova Perez; sister, Elida Saucedo; sister, Isabel Galindo and husband, Cipriano. He is also survived by grandchildren, Jeremy Botello and wife, Danrie, Justin Botello, Chloe Botello, Shannon Kelner, Adeline Zamora, Charlie Mayfield, Hanna Zamora, Ava Lico, and River Zamora; and great-grandchildren, Coledan Botello and Luraine Botello.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Avery Kate Zamora; his parents, Juan and Justa Zamora; his brother, John Zamora; and his sister, Lorrien Warner.
A service to honor and celebrate Florencio’s life will be held Thursday, April 10, 2025, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, located at 5455 Bee Caves Road, Westlake Hills, TX 78746. A recitation of the holy rosary for Florencio will be held from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM. A memorial mass will begin at 10:30 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather and share their love and memories. Lunch will be served immediately after the service at Morris Hall on the St. John Neumann campus.
