Freddy Amador Herrera

Freddy Amador Herrera, Sr. past away in his home on November 5th, 2009, surrounded by family, after his courageous battle against cancer. He was born April 23, 1946 in Roy, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his father Joe Emilio Herrera of New Mexico. Freddy is survived by his wife, Argelia "ChaCha" and their three boys, Freddy Jr., Joe and Chris of Austin; his mother, Adelia Herrera of New Mexico and many other family and friends. The family would like to thank their extended family, friends and church community for their love and support over the past few months. The family would also like to thank Odyssey Healthcare of Austin for their Hospice Care, his nurse Susan Matejek-Williams R.N. and Erik Etheridge for their unfailing support. Thanks to Stephen Blair, M.D. for his commitment to our father's healthcare and our family and to the many caregivers and doctors at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. For their devotion, support, encouragement, prayers, and compassion the family would like to thank the faculty and staff at Lake Travis Elementary, Forest Trail Elementary, Bridge Point Elementary, the Lake Travis ISD Administrative staff, and the Eanes ISD Information Services Department. The family will receive family and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2009 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral services officiated by Rev. Rudy Gonzalez will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Burial will follow at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.
