Frederick "Fred" Charles Quesnel passed away on January 11, 2026, at the age of 76. He was born on October 10, 1948, in Verdun, Quebec, to Henry William Quesnel and Murielle Cabert. He had three siblings: Edward Quesnel, Evelyn Simeon, and Diane Arnold.
Fred was a veteran of the Canadian Army and later continued his service by joining the United States Army. After his military career, he moved to Austin, Texas. One night, while visiting a bar called South 40, Fred walked up to Janet Perry and told her he was going to marry her. They were married on January 19, 1985, and shared 41 wonderful years. Fred adopted Janet’s two children, Dana Kathleen and Daniel Wayne, becoming a devoted and loving father. He spent much of his working life as a career truck driver before retiring and continuing to serve his community as a dispatcher with the Bergstrom Airport Parking Division.
A memorial service will be held at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 W William Cannon Dr, Austin, Texas 78749, on Friday, February 20, at 2 pm.
