Gail was born in Refugio, Texas to William Bond Hood and Vadyse Bedford Hood on March 22, 1937. After graduating from Refugio High School in 1955, she attended the University of Texas with a major in Home Economics; she also received a teaching degree from Texas State University.
While attending UT, she met and married the love of her life, Tommy Turner, in September 1959. Their son, Thomas Richard Turner was born in November 1960.
Gail was a teacher at Country Day School, then worked for 20+ years in the family business in Human Resources and Accounting.
All of her life Gail was a devout student of the Bible and she was a member of Berachah Church of Austin. Gail loved to travel, spending many summers in the mountains of Oregon with dear friends.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Gerald Hood, and her son, Richard Turner. She is survived by her loving husband, Tommy Turner; daughter-in-law Linda Turner, and granddaughter Natalie.
Visitation Friday, May 27th, 2016 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 North Lamar from 6 pm to 8 pm.
