

Gary was originally from Lake Charles, Louisiana, but also lived in Texas for the last 30 years.
Gary retired from Lyondell-Basell after ten plus years as an instrumentation technician and then went on to be an Instrument & Electrical Planner. He was previously a Maintenance Superintendent for the City of Orange, Texas. He was a member of the Harley Owners Group Chapters Cut-n-Shoot, Hou-Tex and San Jacinto. He loved music and playing guitar, off-road Jeep racing, wood working and renovating old cars.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Theresa Webber Broomes, his brother Billy Broomes of Port Barre, LA, daughters Cindy Bean and husband John of Dallas, GA, Coleen Willis of Houma, LA, and son Ted Broomes and wife Vanessa of Houston, TX, and step-sister Regina Flores Trahan and husband Adam, Roger Flores, Kenneth Brunet, and David Brunet. Step-children John Suarez and his wife Jennifer of Deer Park, TX, Christina Suarez and partner Dominic Montoya of Austin, TX and Marcus Suarez and wife Farrah of Houston, TX, Kim Fury and husband Paul of Houston, TX, Tara Augenstein of Deer Park, TX, Angie Jenkins, and Mark Drake, 13 grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends.
Gary is preceeded in death by his parents, James J. Broomes, Etheleen “Tillie” (Broomes) Flores and stepfather Roger Flores and sister Marie M. “Randy” Broomes.
Memorial services for Gary will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 22, 2019 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill Rd Austin, TX 78749.
