Gertrude Claudia Ray

Gertrude Claudia Ray passed away Monday evening, August 8, 2005. She was 96 years old. She had a long and happy life. Gertrude was a loving and amazing mom, sister, daughter, granny, and great-grandmother. She will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved her. She devoted her life to her family, most of all to her loving sons, Gary and Kenny Ray and her very special grandchildren, Kenny Ray Jr, Daniel Ray, and Beverly Miller who filled her life with joy and happiness. Gertrude was born December 15, 1908 in Bellville, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Willie Mae Chernosky, her brothers and sisters, Labgie, John, Minnie, Charlie, and Manilla, her daughter and granddaughter Grace and Kimberly Miller, and her son George Abbott. She is survived by her sons Gary Ray Sr and Kenny Ray Sr and wife Colleen, her grandchildren Edmond Smiley, Beverly Miller, Gary Ray Jr, Kenny Ray Jr, his wife Jessica, Daniel Ray, Donald Abbott and George Wesley Abbott, and her great grand-children Austin Ray, Kyle Ray, and Jesse Miller, and numerous extended family. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 10, from 6:00 – 8:00 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home at 2620 South Congress. The funeral service will be at 2:00 on Thursday, August 11 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral home. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
