

Guadalupe Pecina, 58, of Pharr, Texas, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016, in Austin, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 8, 1957, in San Juan, Texas, to Mauricio Pecina and Joaquina Puentes Pecina.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Juanita Perez; brothers, Roberto Pecina, Jose Pecina, and Andres Pecina; sister-in-laws, Elva Pecina and Lucinda Pecina; brother-in-laws, Juan Gomez, Gene Aaron, Ramiro Perez, and Clint Villines. Guadalupe will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 41 years, Ofelia Molina Pecina; son, Danny Pecina and wife, Angelina; daughter, Cynthia Ann Peña and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Kevin J. Pecina, Jacob Pecina, Christopher D. Pecina, Dominic N. Peña, Kayley A. Peña, Samantha Pecina, Leeanna D. Peña, Mercedez M. Peña, Michael Peña, Jr., Susie Soto, and Christina Soto; great-grandchildren, Michael Peña III, Joseph N. Peña, Stephanie Peña, and Isaiah N. Cantu; brothers, Manuel Pecina and wife, Connie and Mauricio Pecina and wife, Lydia; sisters, Dominga Montemajor and husband, Esteban, Raquel Gomez, Rosa Alvarez, Aurelia Aaron, and Joaquina Pecina; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends at 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M, Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, with a Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. A Mass of Celebration will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill Road.
Honoring Guadalupe as pallbearers will be Mike Peña, Jimmy Mora, Alex Renteria, Javier Renteria, Ruben Tagle, Kevin Pecina, Eloy Escobedo, and Isaac Escobedo.
