

Hazel Daniel Kleypas Hazel Daniel Kleypas, a long time resident of Austin, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2005. She was born August 20, 1917 in Falls County, Texas, the youngest of 6 children of Leonard Lee and Jennie Belle (Hasty) Daniel. She attended Texas State College for Women. During WWII, she resided in Denton as a loyal and supportive wife and mother when her husband, Michael Anthony Kleypas, served his country with the Navy in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. After returning to Austin, she was employed for 35 years by the Southern Union Gas Company before retiring in 1985. She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael, of 60 years, who passed away March 27, 1997. Hazel is survived by her daughter, Jennalie Shepherd, and husband Joel Shepherd, II: three grandchildren and their spouses; Michelle and John Denny, Joel and Patricia Shepherd III; Andrew and Amy Shepherd: six great grandchildren; Jack Denny; Alex, Katie, Devin Shepherd; Drew and Austin Shepherd: plus numerous, wonderful family members and friends. Her family and friends will remember the twinkle in her eye; her sparkling, infectious smile, cute sense of humor, and kind manner that endeared her to all. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2005 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Services honoring Hazel will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2005 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
